O’Connor 42, Clark 14
Jordan Maye needed only nine attempts to rack up 46 yards and three touchdowns as O’Connor overwhelmed Clark 42-14.
Maye first scored on a run of three-yards in the first quarter, then added two more touchdowns on runs of two yards twice in the fourth quarter.
Clark’s Kenneth Bivins Jr added eight catches for 115-yards and one touchdown and also added a 2-point conversion. Benjamin Hooper completed 14-of-30 passes for 161 yards and one touchdown, Hooper also scored on a 4-yard run to go into the halftime tied at 14-14.
Zion Taylor ran for 109 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries. Chase Locke caught a 35-yard pass from David Dodd, and the defense pretty much did the rest.
The Panthers improved to 8-0 with the victory and will face Brennan Bears on Saturday night at Gustafson, while Cougars dropped to 2-6 on the season. Clark will travel to Farris Stadium to take on the Holmes Huskies Friday night.
