All roads lead to Farris Stadium this Friday Night as the O’Connor Panthers (6-0) took on the Brandeis Broncos (4-2) in front of a sold-out crowd. The fans were lined up for the game several hours before the event.

Brandeis side of the field looked like a sea of orange while O’Connor side wearing Whatabowl 18 shirts, poking fun at an incident back in 2013 where students had a big food fight at a local Whataburger.

There was a Facebook online pool with 2684 participants which ended up favoring O’Connor 51% to Brandeis 49%.

The game lived up to all the social media and the nightly news hype.  It was a game that went back and forth on the lead with touchdowns and field goals.

Brandeis’ QB Jordan Battles were the first to get on the board with a 5-yard running touchdown followed by an O’Connor 5-yard touchdown by QB David Dodd.

Before halftime, Dodd connected with WR Sam Castillo for a 1-yard passing TD and Broncos QB Jordan Battles with a 47-yard  running touchdown bringing the score 17-14 as the teams entered the locker room.

Broncos returned to the field to push the score up to 21-17 in their favor but the Panthers answered back making it 24-21.

O’Connor down by 1 point with seconds left in the game Panther’s Jefflin Leslie 32 yard field goal wins the game 30-28.

O’Connor will travel to Farris Stadium to face off against Marshall Rams next Friday, Brandeis will host the Holmes Huskies next Friday night at Farris Stadium.
