Northmont storms to 4-0, strikes Butler

Miles Johnson completed 12 of 17 passes for 322 yards and five touchdowns as Northmont swatted away Butler 43-16 on Thursday night to remain unblemished at 4-0.

Next week, Bulter and company have a highly-anticipated showdown with Wayne (3-1). Northmont is considered the top Division I team in the Dayton metro area.

Junior receiver Jazz Keys had a career night for the green and gold, continuing to add to his quickly expanded resume’. Keys caught eight passes for 138 yards and a touchdown after missing the 2017 with a hip issue.

Fellow junior Justin Golson had a huge part of the 36-6 halftime lead by the Thunderbolts. Golson hooked up with Johnson on a first-half touchdown before, as if there was any doubt, the two hooked up again from 77 yards out to put the game away in the third quarter and finished with 101 yards.

Danny Lewis added another touchdown reception from Johnson to see the Thunderbolts through. A team that has had some injuries early in the campaign seem to have most of them ready to go before the meat of the schedule comes down the stretch.

Butler fell to 2-2 after winning its last two games. Injuries have mounted for the Aviators, but the long-term outlook remains positive.
