OK3Sports Football: Archbishop Alter Knights vs Kenston Bombers

Kenston 42, Alter 6

Archbishop Alter fell well short of the state football championship on Friday at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, OH.

That doesn’t mean the Knights didn’t accomplish a great deal in 2018 despite a 42-6 loss to Kenston in the Division III title game.

The Knights finished the season 13-2, only lost it first and last games this season.

Their playoff run included wins at Wapakoneta (21-7) in the third round and at Norwalk (34-13) in the quarterfinals.

The Knights scored first Connor Bazelak through a 19-yard touchdown pass to Derek Willits. Then the Bombers defense kept them out of the end zone the rest of the night.

Bombers led at halftime 21-6.

“We had no answer for their offense,” Alter coach Ed Domsitz said. “That was a thorough butt kicking.”

Kenston defense made it a mission to win tonight, giving the Bombers their first state title.
