Elite-level quarterback Jacob Zeno ran for three touchdowns and added another through the air as Jay needed nearly every bit of the 48 minutes to put away Clark 36-28 on Thursday night at Farris Stadium.

Zeno, who is committed to Baylor, opened the scoring with a 34-yard run in the first quarter and capped off the scoring with :53 remaining in the game to extend the Mustang lead to eight points. Jaylin Hastings logged another impressive performance, rushing for 177 yards and a 54-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Through two games, Hastings averages 209.5 yards per contest and has rushed for six scores.

Jay moved to 2-0 and 1-0 in District 28-6A with the victory, while much-improved Clark falls to 0-2 after being within striking distance in the fourth quarter in both losses.

For Clark, Christopher Ozcan rushed for 150 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Kenneth Bivins Jr. recorded 101 receiving yards on four catches and added a touchdown run for the Cougars.

Jay will host Brennan on Friday at Gustafson Stadium, while Clark will take on Taft at Farris Stadium.
