Holmes 37, Marshall 33

Senior running back D’Qurian Haney scored four rushing touchdowns, helping Holmes’ win their first game of the season with a 37-33 win over Marshall.

D’Qurian Haney put Huskies on the board first, he ran for 218 yards on 23 carries scoring on runs of 20, 7, 6 and 57 yards.

Huskies led at halftime 21-19.

Rams Bernard Dankyl ran for 116 yards on 16 carries and scored on runs of 32, 13 and 5 yards.

Late in the third Marshall’s Dylan Poore narrows the gap, caught a 10-yard pass to make the score 27-25, Holmes lead.
Huskies and Rams continued to put up points on the board with a final score of 37-33 Holmes.

The Huskies improved to 1-7 and 1-6, the Rams fell to 2-6 and 1-6.

Holmes will match up against Clark at Farris Stadium on Friday, Marshall will play the Warren at Farris Stadium next Thursday night.
