A Brennan defense led by Stevens transfer Anziah Williams took care of business as the Bears picked up their first win of the campaign with a 42-20 victory over previously unbeaten Jay.

Darryon Tolefree rushed for a touchdown, hauled in a touchdown pass from Jordan Flores from 38-yard out with :38 remaining in the third quarter, and sealed the game for good with a 65-yard punt return for six points in the fourth quarter.

For Brennan, Joshua Lopez rushed for two touchdowns to pace the Bears as it picked up its first victory of the season.

Baylor commit Jacob Zeno had a night he would rather forget, completing just four passes for 46 yards and four interceptions. Zeno, however, would rush for 83 yards and a pair of scores. Jaylin Hastings continued his impressive season with 161 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Brennan (1-2 and 1-1), will take on Taft (2-1 and 1-1) next Thursday at Farris Stadium, while Jay will face another stiff District 28-6A test with O’Connor on Friday at Farris.
