Night in and night out, no matter who No. 9 Brennan is up against, Jahmyl Jeter is arguably the best player on the field. That was once again the case on Friday night at Farris Stadium as the Bears rolled to a 39-9 District 28-6A Zone A victory over No. 8 Brandeis in the OK3Sports Game of the Week.

Jeter would finish the night with 212 yards rushing on 24 carries and three touchdowns in one of his best performances of the season. For the season, Jeter now has surpassed 1,000 rushing yards on the season and has rushed for 16 touchdowns.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Oklahoma State commit broke loose on a 30-yard touchdown run with 9:31 remaining in the second quarter to give Brennan a 7-0 lead. After a Brandeis field goal, Jeter once again found a crease and took it 52 yards for a score to give the Bears a 14-3 advantage at halftime. Jeter’s 30-yard run just :57 into the second half followed a safety to extend the advantage to 23-3.

Javon Grimes would add a 30-yard touchdown run late in the game after quarterback Jordan Martinez hit Alexander Wise on a 71-yard touchdown pass to add insurance for the Bears.

Brennan’s defense put in a major effort against an offense that entered the contest averaging 37.6 points per game. The Bears, who moved to 4-3 and 2-0 in district play on the season and are riding a four-game winning streak, held Brandeis to 212 total yards.

J. Nova Rangel led the Broncos (6-2, 2with 87 rushing yards, and Brett Malone was able to score on a 5-yard run in the third quarter which would be the only visit of the night for the Broncos. Brandeis, who was without running back/kicker Marlon Flores-Flores, had its six-game winning streak snapped with the loss.

Brennan will now take on Taft at Gustafson on Saturday, while Brandeis returns to action against Holmes at Farris in Week 9.
