Super sophomore Jordan Battles was back at it again on Thursday Night Lights, completing 10 of 13 passes for 218 yards and four touchdowns as Brandeis downed Stevens, 59-14
After rushing for more than 200 yards in his varsity debut, Battles added another 67 rushing yards in addition to his aerial display. More importantly, Battles is playing like a seasoned veteran for the Broncos, who moved to 2-0 and 1-0 in District 28-6A with the victory.
Cristian Medina rushed for 103 yards on eight carries to pace the Broncos. Brandon Pake caught five passes for 121 yards and a score, while UTSA commit Oscar Cardenas caught two passes for 52 yards and two touchdowns. Brandeis finished with 565 total yards.
For Stevens (1-1, 0-1), Clarence Lee ran for 92 tough yards and a touchdown. Lee’s 12-yard touchdown run with :16 remaining in the first quarter as the Falcons were tied at 14 after the first quarter.
Brandeis will face Marshall at Farris Stadium on Saturday, September 15, while Stevens will look to get back to its winning ways against Holmes at Gustafson Stadium on Saturday.
