It’s Northern Oklahoma College Enid. Finally
In front of a record-breaking crowd of more than 4,200, the Jets from Nothern Oklahoma College Enid won the school’s first-ever NJCAA Division II World Series Championship in baseball Friday.
NOC-Enid beat Mesa 5-4 at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.
NOC-Enid was all tied up going into the 9th inning. That was when NOC-Enid Sophomore Dylan Caplinger drove a fastball over the top of the left field wall.
Only two pitchers took the mound for NOC Enid on Friday. They were both freshmen.
Wyatt Sellers made his first start of the season and threw for six innings.
Brandon Hudson found himself in two jams on Friday night escaping both of them, playing like a seasoned veteran. Hudson final pitch to Luke Patty, who sent the ball flying to right field and into Tanner Neely’s glove for his ninth-inning save.
To start the fourth inning, sophomore E.J. Taylor hit his third home run of the World Series, his 15th of the season.
