Adidas Summer Championships: Top Performer of Day Two
2020 Kerwin Walton, D1 Minnesota – Kerwin Walton, a 6’5” wing playing on one of the best teams on the Adidas circuit, came out scorching hot shooting the ball against a tough Team Loaded NC. Walton hit 4 three-pointers in the first half helping D1 Minnesota take a 14 point lead into halftime. But as Team Loaded NC started to pull themselves back into the game after the break, Walton took matters into his own hands hitting 6 more three-pointers from all over the floor. The wing is a spectacular catch and shoot scorer but can still put the ball on the floor and score. The three-star wing finished the game with 10 made threes on just 13 attempts totaling 30 points in D1 Minnesota’s 80-65 win. D1 Minnesota and Walton kept it rolling against a loaded Dream Vision team led by Kyree Walker and Makur Maker defeating them 67-42. Walton led all scorers with 21 points, shooting 8-13 from the field adding 5 three’s bringing his total to 15 three’s between two games. Despite only being a three-star recruit, Walton likely turned a ton of heads today as there was countless high-major and mid-major in attendance for his shooting performances. D1 Minnesota is headed to the Adidas Summer Championships Final Four and Walton will look to keep his hot shooting streak alive.
