They’re here. It’s day one of the UIL State Finals Boys Basketball tournament at the Alamodome in San Antonio, tipping off three days of action that ends with champions in all six classifications.

Thunderbirds entered the 4th quarter with a 45-38 lead, remaining in the lead for good, held on to go in a 62-52 victory over Sulphur Springs in today’s Class 5A boys semifinals.

Wagner advances to play Mansfield Timberview in Saturday afternoon championship game.

Journee Phillips led Wagner with 19 points, seven rebounds and two assists. and Jalen Jackson added 18 points, three rebounds, three steals and and five assists. Ja’Sean Jackson finished with 12 points, two rebounds and two steals.
