Jordan Flores broke through with a one-yard touchdown run with 1:02 remaining to lift Brennan 33-28 victory over Johnson in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs.
Flores rushed for 58 yards and scored on runs of four and one yards. He threw a 23-yard TD pass to Jordan Smith in the first quarter.
Jonathan Swisher put the Bears on the board first with a 21-yard field goal in the first quarter, Swisher added another 27-yard field goal just before the half to bring the score 20-14 at halftime.
Darryon Tolefree kicked the scoring off in the second half for the Bears with a 50 yard TD run, Tolefree finished with 123 yards on 11 carries.
Justin Rodriguez rushed for 181 yards and three touchdowns for the Jaguars, Truman Hickok added a 20-yard reception, however, it was not enough for the win.
The Brennan Bears improved to 8-3 with the victory and will advance to the next round of the playoffs in face Westlake Chaparrals on Friday at the Alamodome, while Johnson dropped to 7-4 to end the 2018 football season.
