Archbishop Hoban 47, Wayne 28

Archbishop Hoban defeated Wayne by using a ground and pound attack en route to a 47-28 result that was closer than the final score indicated.

The defending Division II state champions rushed for 393 yards, led by Tyris Dickerson rushed for 151 yards, including an 8-yard touchdown run with just over a minute to play to seal the victory for the Knights. Deamonte Trayanum rushed for 97 yards and six carries, including a 55-yard touchdown to give Archbishop Hoban a 40-28 as it started to pull away in the fourth quarter.

Nationally ranked Hoban also got a touchdown strike from quarterback Shane Hamm to Alabama verbal Caden Clark, who is a 6’5, 260-pound tight end.

Wayne’s Rashad McKee completed 22 of 45 passes for 307 yards and led his team in rushing with 63 yards. Cam Fancher finished with 138 receiving yards for Wayne while Steven Victoria snagged seven passes and a touchdown.

Wayne is packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Miamisburg next week at 7:00 PM. Archbishop Hoban will be defending their home turf for the first time when they go up against Ursuline at 7:00 PM.
