Warren 33, Brennan 21

Shifty junior running back Samuel Stanford rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns as Warren moved to 2-0 on the season with a 33-21 victory over Brennan to open District 28-6A play for both teams.

Anthony Cisneros threw for 177 yards and two scores and another on the ground for Warren. Eric Rascoe hauled in a touchdown for Warren, while Caleb Franks scored on a 51-yard hook-up with Cisneros to seal the game with 1:04 remaining.

Jordan Flores threw for two touchdowns. Darryon Tolefree and Flores combined to open the scoring with 7:10 remaining in the first quarter to give the Bears an early 7-0 lead.

Jordan Smith and Flores hit pay dirt on a 35-yard touchdown pass with 1:26 left to make it interesting late. Smith finished with 12 receptions for 204 yards and a touchdown. Flores finished with 279 and two scores through the air for Brennan.

Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Warren take on O’Connor at 7:00 PM. As for Brennan, they will face off against Jay.
