Archbishop Alter Knights had to travel to play their first game of the 2018 season. The game was tied until the last few minutes. The Fairmont Firebirds scored the first TD of the game to sneak past the Knights. This was the first game for both teams, giving Fairmont a 1-0 record and starting Archbishop Alter off at 0-1.
Next week, Fairmont take on Northmont at 7:00 PM. As for Archbishop Alter, they will face off against Thurgood Marshall. Neither Archbishop Alter nor Thurgood Marshall could muster much offensive firepower in their last games, so look to the defense to decide this one.
The Firebirds defeated the Knights 12-6.
